Meet the Musicians

The musicians of West Lake Trio share a passion for creating beautiful live music that elevates life's most meaningful moments. With experience performing in orchestras, chamber ensembles, churches, weddings, and community events, we bring artistry, professionalism, and warmth to every performance.

Whether performing for an intimate ceremony, a festive celebration, or a public concert, we are committed to creating a memorable musical experience for every audience.

Owen

Violin

Owen is a sophomore in high school and a member of his school's top-performing ensemble. He began playing the violin at the age of five after asking his parents if he could learn the instrument—a surprising request considering neither parent has any musical background. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion that continues to shape his life today.

As a member of West Lake Trio, Owen enjoys sharing the beauty and versatility of chamber music with audiences of all ages. His years of study and performance experience have helped him develop both technical skill and a genuine appreciation for connecting with listeners through music.

Outside of orchestra, Owen stays busy as a club and high school volleyball player, a French horn player in the marching band, and an Eagle Scout with Troop 1. He is also a dedicated student who enjoys challenging himself both in and out of the classroom.

Whether performing at a concert, community event, or special occasion, Owen brings enthusiasm, professionalism, and a love of music to every performance.

Ramona

Harp

Ramona is an accomplished young harpist and performs with Maine South’s top band and orchestra as well as on her own. She is thrilled to bring her musicality and years of experience performing to The Westlake Trio.

Ramona was selected as one of two harpists in the state of Illinois to perform in the ILMEA Honors Orchestra as a Freshman in High School. Her featured parts helped Maine South’s Wind Ensemble win a coveted spot to perform at the University of Illinois SuperState Band Competition. She is constantly looking to improve her harp playing and musical skills and has earned a spot to play at the Young Artists Harp Institute this summer.

Outside of harp, Ramona plays trumpet in her school Symphonic band and Jazz band. She is currently auditioning on Trumpet for the “Taps for Veterans” program which strives to provide a live musician to be at every Veteran’s funeral service to play our National Song of Remembrance.

As a musician, Ramona understands the profound impact music can have and hopes to provide these moments of significance at your next event with the Westlake Trio.

Sophie

Clarinet

Sophie is a high school musician with a passion for performance, leadership, and sharing music with others. She has been playing the clarinet for six years and is a member of her school's top-performing band and Jazz band programs. Her dedication to music has earned her both the John Philip Sousa Band Award and the Shining Star Student Award, recognizing her musicianship, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

As a member of West Lake Trio, Sophie enjoys bringing the elegance and versatility of live chamber music to weddings, parties, and special events. She has performed for audiences of all ages and has had the honor of playing for a member of the Grant Symphony Orchestra. Through years of study and performance, she has developed both strong technical skills and a genuine love for connecting with people through music.

In addition to clarinet, Sophie is expanding her musical abilities by learning both the oboe and E-flat clarinet. Her curiosity and enthusiasm for music continue to inspire her growth as a performer and musician.

Outside of music, Sophie is actively involved in her school's theater program, participating in both crew and cast for plays and musicals. She enjoys collaborating with others, contributing behind the scenes, and helping bring productions to life on stage.

Whether performing at a wedding, community event, concert, or special occasion, Sophie brings professionalism, dedication, and a love of music to every performance.
